How can I tell if a molar tooth is still a baby tooth?!

Question: my daughter fell and her molar was knocked loose. Until we get to the dentist, is there a way to tell if it is a baby tooth?

I wish you said how old she is. The only molars that won't fall out are the permanent first molars. These erupt BEHIND the baby teeth around 6 years old. No teeth are lost for those.

The other baby molars fall out between 10 and 12 years. They are the teeth in front of the PERMANENT molar. There are 2 baby molars in each quadrant. The baby molars are replaced by bicuspids, so they look different and hopefully you can tell the difference. Bicuspids only have 2 points, while molars have 4.

I have attached a chart so you can count and check for yourself.

How old is she? Has she knocked out another tooth in the same place before?

well molars accually dont fall out. so they arent considered baby teeth >_>

part of the way to figure this out would first deoend on her age..if shes too young,it would have to be a molar..anther thing is do you ever rember her loseing her molars yet? and you can tell by the size...sorry im not much help

you can either see if its small is usually baby tooth, or there are little points on the bottom of the tooth.
