After you get porcelain veneers is it possible to take them of and how does the !

Question:

After you get porcelain veneers is it possible to take them of and how does the tooth looks without it?

I'm getting just one veneer in one of the 2 front teeth to even it out with the other one and i felt the dentist made the tooth smaller by drilling it, then he put the temporary on top. The tooth felt so thin! i didn't there to look at myself in the mirror in case it didn't look good. I always had complements about my smile just the way it was. I'm afraid that now i will always need a veneer on to of that too. Any profesional in this area pls tell me! Thank you.

Answers:

yes sometimes when dentists do the two front teeth(#8and#9) they do both at the same time even if not needed so they both match correctly(ive seen many dentists do this because i was a temp once where i would go to a different office every day and work) maybe he did only one to save you money? they do file the tooth down to where it resembles a stub...dont be scared..but from now on you would have to wear veneers..or you could always have him do tooth colored filling in the front to repair the look...(i had two tooth colored filling in my front teeth and lasted so far 9 years)nothing is ever permenent...veneers last a long time but not forever..you also cannot bite into apples, you have to slice them from now on..never use your front teeth to bite into anything or they will possibly break or come off..be careful..hope this is helpful to you..
