Wisdom tooth is half out?!

Question: One of my wisdom teeth is out half way, meaning the back half still is under the gums while the front is out. I have heard that dentists pull teeth like this because food can get in but can't be cleaned. The problem here is that I am DEATHLY afraid of pain and needles etc( (perhaps due to past experience). By the way my top ones haven't started to come out of my gums I don't think and the bottom one on the other side hasn't, only this one. None of them bother me but I don't know if the top ones are growing correctly.

opsssss
how old r u? if u are 25 yrs old or more, that wisdom mostly will not get fully erupted... and because u DEATHLY afraid of pain and needles, u have to have it out {extraction} as it being half erupted will cause a lot of problems maily pericoronitis, caries in the 2nd moler and ......etc....... that will cause pain and more needles....... so, extracting it before pain and by one needle is better that having pain, then medications, needles, extraction ,pain., other treatments, needles.... etc

keep your mouth clean... use medicate mouth wash thrice a day... and protect against infection...

You probably will eventually need to get your wisdom teeth removed. I went to the dentist one day because one of my teeth was hurting me a little bit and they told me right on the spot its because of my wisdom teeth and the reason its hurting is because my wisdom teeth are slowly making all of my teeth shift. most peoples wisdom teeth grow sideways instead of normal like all the other teeth causing the other teeth to shift. and i know its hard to get shots and stuff for the surgery, but its worth it in the end if you know you wont be in pain in the long run...

I have one that is out and completely crooked... It bothers me because it catches on my cheek when i bite down but i too am afraid of having to get it pulled so i haven't mentioned it to my dentist. I go in regularily and she (my dentist) hasn't said anything about it. The other three are there but haven't broken through the gum yet, on one of them you can see the white under the gum... I am guessing that unless i complain about them or the dentist sees anything stuck in them, she won't pull any.

There's really nothing to worry... Dentist are pros, they know what they are doing. I myself recently had 2 of my wisdom tooth removed because they had grown vertically... The experience wasn't as painful as I thought, though I got nervous before the operation... Just ask your dentist what's for the best... They know what they are doing...

Wisdom teeth can erupt between the age of 15 to 50,but very rare in the later age ,wisdom tooth is also known as third molar in dentistry,as you described the position of your tooth it seems to be not erupting in correct position if you see all the four corners of your coming up tooth cutting the gums this is normal - or if you see some thing like ice berg position slanted slightly towards at 10* - 45* degree then it will go for minor surgical extraction which could be a ten minuites job for a dental depending on his /her skills .
As you mentioned that you are scared of pain and got needle fobia that is normal with every normal-Dentists are vrey good hypnotisers as well ,if you come across an experienced one ,I am sure you will love to visit again and again........so what you are waiting for pick your phone and fix an appointment now ! All the best !
