I really wanna be a dentist but dont know where to start and i just graduated from school, please help.

Hello, as a dentist myself I can tell you that a career in dentistry is a very rewarding career that takes a lot of determination and dedication. If you just graduated high school then you will need to enroll in a four-year college to receive a bachelors degree, most dental schools require that you have a 4 year degree prior to applying and they usually look for a degree in either Chemistry or Biology with a lot of labs included in your studies. Once you have a bachelors (4 year degree) you will need to take the DAT (Dental Admissions Test) and then apply to dental school. Dental school is an additional 4 years and even longer if you want to specialize (ie: orthodontics etc). Once you graduate dental school you will be awarded either the DDS or DMD degree and you will be ready to practice dentistry.
