Answers:

Believe it or not about 90% of the population has some form of gum disease. At it's mildest form is barely noticeable. At the severest form teeth are lost, and there's a lot of halitosis. The good news is that most forms of gum disease is reversible to an extent.

1. Have a thorough clean with a dentist, and go every 6-12 months.
2. Brush thoroughly 2 or more times a day.
3. Floss daily.

Research shows that with light forms of gum disease it takes about 7-14 days for gums to eliminate gingivitis after a good clean and the start of a good oral hygiene routine. More severe gum disease can take a about 21 or more days.

Your caring dentist will be more than willing to help you.
