Braces comeing off...?
Okay so I get my braces off in 27 days so I have a few questions. First of all does it hurt? What exactly do they do? How long does it take? My appointment card said that it takes 1 in a half hours, but that seems like a long time. What do retainers look like? How long will I have to wear it?

First of all does it hurt? No, it didn't hurt at all. I heard them taking off the brackets, it was like "pop" and some pressure but def not pain.
What exactly do they do? They take off the wires and remove the brackets. Then remove the glue.
How long does it take? I don't remember but it was pretty quick. I was really excited so to me it felt so quick.
What do retainers look like? They come in acrylic or plastic. It's molded to your teeth to help "retain" their position. Mines is acrylic with a metal bar.
How long will I have to wear it? Wear them all the time or as long as your Ortho suggests. I wore mines all the time for the 1st year and nightly after. But depends on your Ortho.
It took a while for me to get use to not having braces. I ran my tongue over my teeth for a while, lol. Good luck! =)
