Is it better to brush first thing in the morning or after you eat breakfast?!

Question:

Is it better to brush first thing in the morning or after you eat breakfast?

It seems most logical to brush after breakfast, no?

Answers:

I would say so. I don't see the point of brushing immediately after waking up if I'm just going to dirty my teeth some more a few minutes later. Also, food doesn't taste so good with toothpaste.

I found this:

Brush at least twice a day — many oral-health-care professionals recommend brushing just before going to bed. When you sleep, saliva decreases, leaving the teeth more vulnerable to bacterial acids. Teeth should also be brushed in the morning, either before or after breakfast, depending on your schedule. After breakfast is ideal so food particles are removed. But if you eat in your car, at work or skip breakfast entirely, make sure you brush in the morning to get rid of the plaque that built up overnight.

The theories about eating the bacteria don't seem to be true.
