Is it bad to use bleach to get rid of a cold sore???!

Question: It really doesn't seem safe to put bleach on a cold sore. The best things you can do are: 1. Use Carmex (it helps it feel better). It's cheap and often found in the check out line at a store. 2. If you catch it when it first starts feeling like you might get a cold sore (itchy/tingly) then try using Abreeva if you can afford it. It helps it to go away just a little bit quicker. It's not an overnight miracle-worker, though. 3. Most importantly, be careful to prevent it from spreading. Don't pick at it, and if the sore breaks open, do your best not to let the liquid that comes out spread, because that makes the sore spread out and last longer. Carry tissues with you and gently blot it if necessary. 4. Hang in there. It will get better eventually. And remember, it doesn't look as bad to everyone else as it feels to you. Don't loose sleep over it.

Bleach naah but battery acid is better!

It will only irritate it.

Yes, you'll burn your mouth and that won't get rid of the cold sore. It'll just make it a huge, bloody mess.

You can pick up a number of very effective OTC drugs at the local store. Eat right, get a lot of sleep, and avoid extreme anxiety; it'll go away soon.
