i had an expander.
i actually enjoyed the feeling, it kind of makes you light headed.
as long as you do not fall behind on the turn-a-day schedule and have to catch up by turning more than the scheduled turns a day, it doesnt hurt.
i was freaking out when i first did it too, lol
my orthodontist actually did the first turn in the office to demonstrate and stuff, so youll feel it then.
also, you'll have a speech impediment for a while.
mine never went away, but my friend's did.
this is because the expander isnt exactly fit to the roof of your mouth..there is a slight space.
