Teeth sensitivity due to braces! to all those who have braces!?!

Question:

Teeth sensitivity due to braces! to all those who have braces!?

i just got my braces 2 days ago. : whenever i bite down, my canine tooth on the upper left side touches the 2nd molar tooth on the lower left side, the canine tends to be sensitive. this never happened to me before i got braces...in return, i cant eat hard foods cause it really hurts...have u experienced this kind of sensitivity??

Answers:

Totally normal, and yes had the same thing. Anyone who has had braces will have experienced the same thing. Tends to be very sensitive and painful for the first few days. Give it a few more days, it'll go away. In the mean time, try to stick to soft foods (or at least foods that require little or no chewing), keep hydrated (your mouth stands no chance if you are dehydrated), use the wax to help sores and dose up on painkillers.
