Will this nasty plaque or whatever it is come off?!

yes, most of the stain and plaque will come off when the orthodontist takes your brackets off and polishes your teeth. if there is any tartar it your hygienist should get that off when she cleans your teeth.however if you have not been taking care of your braces you may have white spots on your teeth. these are decalcified areas caused by plaque sitting on your teeth for too long. these spots will not come off.
if your teeth are clean now, it's fine and keep in brushing them will maintain ur teeth white, and don't forget the each 6 months visit to the dentist for checking.....
but yout teeth still not clean white after the visit of cleaning.. u've to go back to ur dentist to reclean them...
