Question:

Had wisdom tooth taken out 2 weeks ago was wondering if the gums getting irratated are normal...?

my dentist office said healing does take a while,i have heard it can take upwards of 2 months for the extraction point to heal and im just wondering if the gums getting irratated is normal...

Answers:

As long as you are not experiencing increased pain, swelling, throbbing sensation, inflammation and oozing or drainage from the extraction site then you should be healing nicely. If "any" of these symptoms exist, consult your dentist immediately as these are signs of an infection that will need to be treated with antibiotics. Good luck and hope I've been of some help.

It can take several months for the tissue to fill in, and you may always feel a indentation where the tooth was.
