Clove Oil for toothache?!

Question:

Clove Oil for toothache?

Last week I read in here that the best thing to help with a toothache was Oil of clove (Clove Oil), so I got some from the pharmacist but no one said how to apply it. I put some on a cuetip and put some on the top of the tooth and around the gum area and it not only set my mouth on fire, but ten or fifteen minutes later, it felt like someone was pushing an icepick through my gums to the bone. How is the best way to use this stuff - application wrong or what?

Answers:

It is indeed a good remedy and the best way to apply it is to use a tiny ball of cotton and drop a bit of clove oil on it and then place it on the affected tooth, making sure it is held there with the help of the opposite tooth!
