Im kinda nervous bout going to the dentist this thursday. and iwas wondering what they do to a chipped tooth.?
any needles involved? whats the pain level like?

Hi there, sorry to hear about your tooth. As a dentist I can tell you that it truly depends on how big the chip is. If the tooth that is chipped hurts, then you most likely will need a Lidocaine injection as this is a sign that you may have exposed the nerve, but if the chip is small and does not hurt then there is no injection. Usually all that's involved in fixing a chip is building the tooth up, giving the build up a couple of minutes to "cure" with a special UV light and the the tooth is polished and your ready to go. Discuss with your dentist about how you are feeling, he/she will be more than happy to explain the entire procedure to you and help keep your mind at ease.
