How do you suggest to someone that they should visit a dentist, and SOON!?
I'm sure he has trench mouth, or something very similar. Sometimes his breath smells like rotten meat, it's really bad! He thinks I'm criticizing him whenever I suggest seeing the dentist, but all I'm trying to do is help him. It's a known fact that bad gums can cause all kinds of heart and health problems, but he insists the smell is coming from his lungs or stomach. I say he should rule out the obvious and go see a dentist first.

Keep telling him what you have been telling him. Maybe he'll get tired of hearing about it from you and finally go.
