How did everyone else feel after getting a tooth pulled?!

Question: i had one pulled today. it was done almost a couple hours ago. when i got home i watched a show that started at 3 and ended at 4. a little bit ago i replaced the guaze for the first time. when i took the guaze out the nurse put in. it seemed like it had a lot of blood on it. and now it hurts to have my mouth closed and the guaze against the area. this wasn't a wisdom tooth. it was a normal molar but the last visiable one. if anyone wants to know why i had it pulled. the root was decayed and i figured well pull it so i wouldn't have to worry about root canal problems. the tooth broke off from the root while the oral surgen was taking it out. and he said the roots were really long and the impacted wisdom tooth that was next to it was partcially grown over the roots of the tooth that i had taken out. i was curious about how others felt after having this done. how long did it bleed? how long did it hurt? i haven't taken any pills yet

when you have a tooth extracted, the dentist uses an instrument called an elevator. it is kinda wedged in between the tooth that you're having out and the tooth next to it. they use this to elevate the tooth up and down in the socket. sometimes, the surrounding teeth can get moved slightly (you wouldn't even be able to tell except pressure and that they can be sore).
it's going to look like you lost a ton of blood when you look at the guaze the first time. don't worry. unless you're on blood thinners, an alcoholic or you take an adult aspirin everyday, you will be fine with your clotting. you will ooze blood over the next day, but DO NOT spit!! DO NOT swish with water or anything with alcohol. stay away from carbonated drinks, too. all of these things can cause you to lose the clot that is forming in the socket. you want this clot. becareful with brushing, too. if you lose the clot, you will have bad pain from a dry socket.
no smoking either!!
you are going to be sore, but don't try to be brave and not take your meds....take them, feel better.

when i got my tooth pulled it didn't actually hurt very badly. After it ached a bit for a few hours but i just took a bit of tylonal which worked really well. Also, keeping pressure on the gauze in your mouth will help stop pain and bleeding! it should feel better tomorrow, otherwise call your dentist and ask for suggestions.

It sounds like you had a lot of work done for one tooth.
The other teeth are hurting due to what my surgeon calls 'sympathy pains'. There was a lot of trauma in that area so they too will be sore. Take some advil, but no asprin. The asprin will only prolong any bleeding

What you describe sounds normal to me. Generally, your mouth will start to ache as the local anesthesia wears off, you will be in pain for a few hours, (I assume your dentist gave you or suggested a mild painkiller? Now is the time to take it).

The bleeding can last a few hours as well, but by this evening it should have stopped, just keep replacing the gauze frequently.

If you eat or brush your teeth, it might bleed a little more, try to be careful.

take some pain killers if its seems that there is a lot of blood it is beacause the blood has mixed with saliva so it seems like more. when i had a tooth taken out i just had LOADS of icecream! it helped a bit

Well i got my tooth pulled once when i was like 5 but i mean after it i kinda felt really bad..but i mean thats normal...

It was the most fun experience of my life.
