Getting wisdom teeth out with novacaine?

I have to get my wisdom teeth out but there 2 are impacted and under the gums. Anyone have that done with just novacaine or with laughing gas too? I personally want to get them out with surgery but my insurance won't pay for that. Whold do you think I should do? Experiences?

I had two impacted wisdom teeth taken out with lidocaine (they don't use Novocaine anymore). Mine were way down. They had to remove some bone first. No big deal. Just make sure the dentist gets you all the way numb. You will feel a huge amount of pressure, but shouldn't feel any sharp pain. I have also worked for two oral surgeons and am currently working for a dentist. I have assisted in a lot of surgeries and extractions. All with local anesthesia only. It's really an every day thing. Don't worry too much. Don't smoke afterwards or drink alcohol or carbonated drinks for a couple of days to help the healing.
