How can i find the cheapest dentist in my area?

i need bonding to fill in a small gap

If you want bonding to fill a gap, I'm assuming you're looking for a 3 surface composite filling (those surfaces are the back of the tooth, the front of the tooth, and gap-side of the tooth) that's a guess....
Anyway, call the office and ask them, "How much is a three surface composite?" They will know what you mean. It should be in the rough neighborhood of 170 dollars, and you'll need two of them, one for each side of the gap.
(that's if the gap is the front two center incisors....if it's offset to the side, you can maybe get away w/ doing that w/ one tooth.)

Bear in mind, most dentists aren't going to want to treat just the one problem - they want you to come in for a cleaning (about 60-90 bucks) and xrays (35-80) and an exam (60-100). This is cuz A) it's better for the patient to know what all is going on, B) it makes them more money and C) it covers their butts in terms of liability.

MAYBE you can say, "All I want is this filling(s), and I'm aware that their may be other problems and I don't care at this point, and I absolve you of any responsibility for finding them and won't be angry if I need a root canal in aother tooth in one year, a problem you can't find as I don't want you to look."

Soooo, call all around, ask about the three surf. filling. DON'T ask about the costs of cleanings and xrays...well, you can, but a lot of docs, myself included, have really low-end costs on those because it's a good way to get people in the door! Just like the supermarket has these sales where soda is marked down from $2.50 to 1.19...it gets you in the store and then you buy other stuff.
