What do you do about kancersores?
Answers:
In patients over four years of age, mix one tsp of Benadryl elixir with 1 tsp of Kaopectate. Then apply to the canker sore, or swish the mixture in your mouth. Then spit it out. The Benadryl has decent properties as a topical anesthetic and Kaopectate acts as a vehicle to keep the mixture adherant to the mucous membrane for a longer period.
For very painful sores, there is a compound called viscous Xylocaine, available by prescription.
