Im Getting Braces In April. Does It Hurt Putting Them On?!

Question: Don't worry abut it. It hurts slightly just like a nip then it goes away but when you get them tightened once a month i have heard that it can hurt. The pain it just like an ache and can last about 2-3 hours. I know it can be worrying but don't loes sleep about it because you will soon see it is nothing to worry about.

  • I used to have braces - it is sometimes a little painful to start with but once you get used to them they are fine! Good luck!

    dont worrie it shouldnt hurt

no it doesnt hurt to get them put on. what hurts is when you start to feel them working to move your teeth, like an hour or so AFTER they're put on. i remember i couldn't eat chewy or really solid food for a week.

    Its uncomfortable,but worth it

My little brother has braces and never complained. Although, I guess it varies

well i got some on thursday, and my mouth is covered in ulcars :) and everywhere in my mouth is aching. but i have got block ones...if your getting train tracks i dont think there as bad

it hurts the first days but you get use to it and it stops hurting

No, I just got some like 2 months ago. They are uncomfortable for a while but they don't hurt.

They don't hurt getting them on. But your teeth will be a little sore the following days. You might want to take some ibuprofin or something. You'll be so glad you had them. I know I am!

yeah it hurts a bit, and maybe every now and then
but it's more of an irritation than a pain
and it's so worth it :D

I doesn't hurt until you get home and try to eat. The braces are pulling your teeth out of the bone so you should take an Advil before you go.

I had braces when I was younger. As I recall, the actual procedure of putting them on didn't hurt, but it hurt later that day and the next day. It was also sore for a day or so whenever they put on tighter bands.

I'd recommend having some easy to eat stuff like Jello, milkshakes, apple sauce, etc.

I have braces right now&I just got them on in December.

&no, it doesnt hurt getting them on.
But a couple of hours later is when it starts to hurtt!

For about a week, just make sure you eat a lot of softer foods&stuff like that.
    You'll be fine(:

&im getting my bottom braces in april!
    haha!(:

No, the actual banding process is pretty much painless. The pain comes from the shifting of your teeth and the tenderness.
I was sore for a week when I first had mine, but eventually that goes away. Then when you get readjustments, it can be a little rough the first couple of days.
I learned to LOVE spaghetti O's course, the cleaning up afterwards is atrocious LOL
    Good luck.

Braces do a little - tracking is fine - but some paracetamol and you will be ok. It worth it

Retainers sometimes hurt when you put them on but they mostly hurt when you first put them in also you can't talk that well.Good Luck!

The only thing that will hurt is when everyones laughing at your ugly face.

They will hurt for a few days after they've been put on, and a little bit after they are adjusted (roughly every 6 weeks). I've got them at the minute - no worries really. But if you play an instrument (like me) then you might have a little trouble once in a while.

no it doesn't hurt putting them on, but the day aftrer your mouth will be sore,

Putting them on puts pain on one tooth at a time, but after most of them hurt, for about a day.

i don't think it hurts having them put on from what i have been told from my friends but i think its a littel painful for the first week or so but then you get use to it. hop this helps.

For me, spacers were the worst part, and once they put my braces on it was a relief. I have had them for two years and they only hurt when I get them adjusted each month.

    Good luck!
