He put cold medicine in so it wasn't sensitive, will this go away after it's been awhile?
Answers:
This is normal, try not to over stimulate the teeth by drinking or eating anything hot or cold for a few days, they will settle down. Right now they are going through a little pulpitis from being worked on, this is normal and will dissipate with time. The filling material used will transmit hot or cold at a much faster rate to the pulp than that of the natural tooth structure. They have been stimulated from being worked on and adding hot and cold is just too much stimuli for the nerve right now. So give the teeth time to settle down from being worked on and slowly return to your normal temperature of foods and drinks. Be sure to brush with warm water for a few days and you might want to try using a straw to drink from avoiding letting anything touch these teeth. Hope I've been of some help and good luck!
You can also take Advil or Motrin to help reduce the inflammation.
