Mouth Expander ?!?!?!

Question: Okay so I got an expander in my mouth to separate my teeth so I can get braces.

But this expander made a huge dent in my tongue because it presses against it!
and now on the side of my tongue, it hurts to it because of it.

What should I do?
Plus this mostly happens when I'm sleeping.

appliances like expanders and retainers do take some time to get used to. I know it hurts. I'm sure your doctor probably knows what he's doing and made it right, but if you are really concerned about it, ask him next time you go. About the sleeping thing, i know I clench my teeth when i sleep, maybe its the same with you. Ask your doctor. Something that might help a little bit with the pain for now is Tylenol and rinsing/gargling warm salt water.

you'll get used to it...

i've gotten used to the various contraptions the ppl put in my mouth.
