yes i think you do because my friend had them put on when she had hers done, i also think that you can pick what colour you want. hop this helps

Your Ortho. will probably ask you if you want a color or not.
You will have to let the person know fitting them that your want some decoration on your braces or you will be left with plain wires. My son had his footie team colours on his. Hope this helps.
They will put on the colored ligatures of your choice to secure the arch wire. I hope this helped.
P.S. You can have the colored changed at each visit.
i used to have braces, and i used to get blue and gray. now that i look back in pictures of me smiling.. it looks really weird.. like i ate oreos and it got on every other tooth (the blue) lol. so i recommend not getting two alternatating colors. one color looks best.
Yes, my kids got their colors changed every time they went. Keep in mind though, yellow makes your teeth look dirty.
