Question:

Is there a way to get a dental procedure covered by medical insurance rather than dental?

I have alot of dental problems, i need 15 crowns on the top alone just basic bad tooth enamel. Its not from brushing or flossing since i do that daily. I have dental insurance but not as good as my medical. So is there a way to get it submitted through medical.

I don't have delta dental in my state though. And the dentist i go to requires it paid at the time of service.

Answers:

That is horrible that your dentist expects you to pay at time of service. I am suggesting you talk to another dentist, call around and see who might be willing to set up a payment plan. There is no way you can afford to do all that, and as far as I know, regular insurance will not cover dental work.

Have you tried to apply for carecredit...Go to carecredit.com and check that out.

I know it can be frustrating to need all this dental work, and feel like there is just NO WAY to get it done. I hope you are able to work it out.

Another suggestion that just came to mind, and not one I am comfortable with, but many people are is to find a dental teaching school. They offer discounted dental work, because supervised students work on you. You do have to pay up front there though, you cannot work out payment plans.
