Doctor's Night Guard mouthpiece...has anyone used it?!

Question:

Doctor's Night Guard mouthpiece...has anyone used it?

It's a mouthpiece that you wear at night to protect your teeth against involuntary grinding.

Does it work?
Is it comfortable?
Would you recommend it? Or, anything else to protect teeth against grinding at night?

Answers:

Yes, I have had two of them, and both kinds work well. I have worked at two different dental offices that use two different kinds, so I tried them both. I used a soft night guard, and a hard one made of acrylic (also used for TMJ). They both work, but the acrylic one (the hard one) fits more snug and isn't as bulky, but cost a whole lot more. The soft nightguard is a little more bulky and I would tend to spit it out in my sleep at night sometimes without knowing until I awoke, but it was alot cheaper. They both do the job, it keeps you from grinding down your teeth when you have no control over it.
