I have a gap in the smack front of my teeth....what would be hebest way to close!

Question:

I have a gap in the smack front of my teeth....what would be hebest way to close it? braces, veneers, or?

dental bonding?

Answers:

Depends on the gap. I have reg veneers and Lumineers to cover one in the front and bonding to cover tiny ones on the side of it. Plus I've had braces almost 10 years ago. Bonding was the cheapest. I'm very happy w/all 3 procedures. With bonding, it does stain easier so good to rinse or brush after drinking coffee, soda, tea. I didn't have to get any numbing and there was no pain. I was surprised at how fast it took. I had them for 5 years, no problems. W/veneers, part of my tooth was shaved off. I did have to have numbing. But it covers your tooth. With Lumineers, no shots, no pain. It's the most realistic of the 3 but most expensive. With any 3, you do run the risk of chipping or breaking and replacing it. I try to avoid hard foods. Like if I eat an apple, I'll cut it up instead of biting into it. Braces are an option. The great thing is that you straighten your other teeth too. It's only a few short years. And if you're thinking on getting several veneers, braces might be better since it'll be close in cost then. It's best to check w/your dentist to see which procedure you are a good candidate for based on the gap. Ask them to explain the pros/cons of each. Good luck!
