Is chewing gum bad for your stomach lining?!


Question: I've just picked up chewing gum frequently to counteract my chronic bad breath, because even after brushing doesn't always seem to do the full job.

However, I have heard that chewing gum causes your stomach to excrete stomach acids and that can ruin your stomach lining when your stomach is empty. Is there any truth to this?

No! I just read an article today, stating that it is OK to swallow your gum.
