Is it normal for orthodontic spacers to fall out?!

Question:

Is it normal for orthodontic spacers to fall out?

I have had my spacers for around maybe a bit over 2 weeks. This is the 3rd time 1 has came out. The first time it was the one between my upper right molars, second was between the upper left molars and right molars, and the 3rd time (this time) is between the upper right molar AGAIN. I don't know the correct term for the molars but i know they're not the 12 year molars it's between. What is the reasoning of this? last time I ate some beef jerky and they fell out, but this time I was just eating something they told me I could eat and it just fell out. It is very frustrating and I feel uncomfortable going to the ortho again due to the fact he'll think i am not properly taking care of my teeth.

Answers:

Yes,

Orthodontic spacers create space, and it is frequent that they fall out after the space is created.

But usually the bands are put around a week after the spacers were on, or at least an impression is taken around a week later if an orthodontic appliance is needed. http://www.studiodentaire.com/en/treatme...
