I'm getting braces and i wanted to know what foods ware not allowed?!

Question: Don't put just anything in your mouth. Some objects & foods can loosen or break appliances. So think about these tips before you take a bite:
Slice fresh vegetables, fruits & other hard-to-chew foods before eating them.
Aviod hard foods like popcorn, nuts, or corn chips. Dont chew on ice.
Dont eat sticky foods like gum, caramel, taffy & gummy candy.
Cut down on sugary foods and soft drinks. If you do have them, brush your teeth right after.
Dont chew or bite objects such as pens, pencils, crayons & fingernails.

you can eat all food its just whether or not it will stick to your braces

Your orthodontist will explain everything to you. There will be alot of things that will be hard to eat. (apple, popcorn) anything that you have to bite in to and pull with your teeth. It's not so bad though, I wore them.

They will tell you when you get them. But I always ate what I wanted.

No chewing gum! no crusty bread , no chewy sweets just stick to occaisional chocolate! no hard fruit-apples unless chopped really small ! and its really important to clean those teeth and use mouth wash .good luck .

Your doctor should give you a sheet when you get your braces that tells you what not to eat--basically not a lot of sugar, hard foods, hard candy, sticky candy, or gum....

But in reality, everyone eats whatever they want. It doesnt really harm anything at all. Just brush your teeth and you can eat whatever you want, it will be fine.
