Abscess Medication, please help?!

Question:

Abscess Medication, please help?

I was prescribed Clindamycin, 150mg to take 4 times a day on Monday, June 4th. I had the abscess removed on Wednesday the 6th. Just earlier we were out eating and I felt nausiated and ended up having diarrhea. I feel pretty crappy, kind of ill feeling...it goes in and out, i feel better for a few mins, then a few mins later I feel crappy again. What I am worried of is does this sound like I am having side effects of this medicine? I have been eating yogurt the last couple of days and have been doing ok (I read it is supposed to help). Today I didnt have any yogurt with my medicine and here I am now. I want to stop taking this medicine, but am worried that I am not healed all the way. Not sure what to do :( any advice would be more than welcome. To sum it up I have taken this medication since Monday the 4th. Thank you in advance for your help

Answers:

Continue to take your antibiotics until your prescription has ran out. As a dentist I can tell you that Clindamycin is the perfect drug to fight the type of dental infection that causes an abscess. make sure you take this medication with plenty of food; taking this on an empty stomach will cause extreme nausea. Good luck!
