Do you think it's weird that I....?
Will only go to a female dentist? lol I am a woman and my friends say it is weird and I guess it is. I have no idea why I am like this. For some reason I feel much more comfortable around female dentists than male dentists. My current dentist is a woman and I looked long and hard for her in the phone book because the majority of the dentists in my town are male. I just feel that a female dentist sets me more at ease. Anyone else like this? I know most people could care less one way or the other.

As a dental hygienist I don't think it is odd at all. Most hygienists are female and I think that people look to us with the hopes that we will be gentle and caring. I think that most people would prefer someone that is often looked at as a caregiver, almost in a motherly type of way. In fact I believe there are more female dental students now more than ever. Don't get me wrong, I work for 3 great male Dr's and wouldn't trade them in, but you must do what makes you comfortable!
