How Do I get Braces Off Faster?!

Question: I have a sucession of questions, so I'll number them. It would also be helpful to number your answers. Thank you.

Note: I have no headgear or rubber bands.

1. Will brushing specially over gums help loosen them and therefore help the teeth move faster?

2. Will chewing sugarless gum actually help move teeth due to jaw movement?

3. Will orthodontists predict longer treatment times so you have low expectations, but then they come off sooner than expected?

4. Will flossing help? Explain.

5. Are you actually able to ask your orthodontist to get your braces tightened more often? I am not bothered by the pain, as it barely hurts at all, so if this is possible, I would do it.

Please do not tell me to wait for my remaining time, as every time I go to the orthodontist, it seems as if my treatment time is prolonged. Last time I went it was June. Now it's October. I am beginning to think that they are just adding a little time each visit to make me more patient.

1. No. It will make your gums bleed and have more problems. Possibly even receding gum lines.

2. Well not really. Compare it to chewing food.

3. No. They are professionals and give their exact estimations and opinions on what will happen and how long they will be on.

4. Yes. Flossing is part of keeping your teeth clean. If you didn't do so, well compare a car's tires with stuck behind them making them un-able to move.

5. Thats their job to do. They tighten it during the right time. If they tighten your braces too fast, your teeth might move too fast off the bare bone or just crowd around and just become a mess.

Just be patient and brush regularly.

alll of these the answer is no. The only thing you can really do is weight. The more you try to do these things it will mess up what your dentist wants you to do and will take longer.

It is not beneficial to try and do it faster.
I did, and had them tightened more often. It was more painful, but indeed it was doable, but, in the end, my teeth shifted right back to were they were, within about three years... so.. there ya go... just take your time, and you'll have a better chance for it staying that way, since that is the ultimate goal.

I got my braces 2 months ago, and I still didn't get my bottom ones. I've asked my Orthodontist if their was anyway I could make the process a bit faster and she told me its better not to. On the next dentist appointment I asked her if it was possible to get the braces tighten more often and she said if she did that the treatment wouldn't be the same as if i would get them tightened one time every 1 month.

But if I were you I would still ask your Orthodontist about ways to make it faster. I hope that helped a bit.

I understand that you are anxious to be "brace-less" and to show your perfect smile off to the world. Been there. Done that. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to speed up the process to attain perfection. Although it seems like forever when you're wearing them, the real "forever" will be the end result when you acquire the beautiful asset of healthy teeth for the rest of your life. The compliments are never-ending!

1.Teeth move faster in a clean mouth, but you should just brush normally, overbrushing will hurt your gums.2. You are not supposed to chew any gum with or without sugar, you stand a chance of disrupting your appliances and that will slow down the treatment. 3. The anticipated time for removal is based on your age and expected compliance with your teatment (mouthcare and keeping appointments) so yes, if you follow your treatment plan to the letter, they could come off sooner than you think. 4. You are supposed to floss everyday anyway so this should not be a question, refer to question one. 5. Your orthodontist will adhere to his treatment plan and will tighten on his schedule and your progress, not your desires.

well first off,if you wanna get them of faster you HAVE to eat none of the things on the NO list.
for example:gum, sodas.but you will have a list from your orthidontist.as far as i know gum is an no no.or ice.i dont think brushing will help with getting them off faster, but it WILL get of all the food stuck in there.ummmm......... you might beable to get them tightend more often, but i know 4 sure they will charge u if u can.SO B CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
