I chipped my tooth 4 weeks ago?

And it did not hurt but than today I brushed my teeth and my chipped tooth hurts very bad what do you think that means

Get to a dentist before it becomes unbearable.

It took 6 months after I chipped a tooth before it became unbearable, but when it did start to hurt it took me nearly 2 weeks for a dentist to see me and another 2 weeks before he got me to an oral surgeon to have it extracted. (It was a wisdom tooth, with twisted roots)
