My filling came out today. Do they have to numb me to fix it?!

Question: I just got two fillings this morning and one of them came out a couple hours after I left the dentist. It is very small and you can't see it, but I can feel it with my tonuge. I was just wondering if they will have to numb me again to fix it. Thanks!

Not necessarily. My dentist tells me I have a small cavity and gives me the option.
Since this is a new filling, you should not need it. But, get back to the dentist as soon as possible so it does not get infected with food, etc.
They numb you to do the drilling, that's over with.

well if they numbed ya up the first time, then they will have to the second time.

Most of the time it is up to you, if it is small he most likely can fill it again without numbing you.

also try to remember that if you let it go for more than a few days you take the chance of irritating the tooth and then possibly needing a root canal.

Now those things have a bad reputation but with modern technologies it really isn't bad. I have had one and it is no different then a filling.

but it is costly

Nah they just put the filling back on it. My dentist uses laser dentistry so I didn't even have to get numbed in the 1st place.
