Help me out here? I'm getting braces on Friday but need some help on whats going on?

Ok two weeks ago they put the seperators in I guess those are the spacers I have heard about (they are little rubber things that are supposed to seperate my back molars where the braces are going to go i guess) What comes next? What about the metal things they put in to hold the braces in place do those hurt? Help im getting scared?


Also big problem I'm 18 and have medicaid I got lucky because my dental (braces) work is all paid for already but my dentist told me that when they take the braces off in 2 years and a half I am going to need a surgery for my open bite problem and my medicaid will be terminated...The problem is that the surgery costs approx $70,000 and I was wondering if there is some special way I can appeal to get more medicaid or a way that I won't have to pay n-ething because I don't have that money...

the metal pieces glues to your teeth do not hurt, but the wires and rubber bands attached to them that pull at your teeth can make your teeth ache. I used to take 4 otc motrin before orthodontist appointments, it really helps to take it before the pain starts. 4 might be too much for you if you have stomach problems.
