Can a dentist I used to go to prescribe me Valium before my appointment with the new dentist?! (I called the new place that's taking the tooth out and said I'm scared & that I want something to calm me down. They said they don't do that. So I thought I could get something from a dentist I used to go to (and take it before the appointment with the new guy.)

I tried to have this tooth removed in December 2006 by the old dentist........and when he used to Novacaine...it didn't work cuz the stupid freaking tooth was infected!!! So, I don't want that to happen when I try to get it removed this month (June).

If you have any infection the dentist is supposed to give you an antibiotic to clear it up first before he does any treatment whether extraction or root canal. Sorry your dentist was so careless.

Does your dentist use the gas to put you to sleep? It generally costs more, but a friend went this path when she needed 3 teeth removing as she was so nervous.
