I love thddspc's answer, I am a dentist as well and I remember the days back in dental school when we had to inject each other, not a fun time with people who had no clue what they are doing. You should be absolutely fine, just take a deep breath and everything will be OK. The injection feels like a pinch, kinda like a bee sting and that's it, it honestly only hurts for a couple of seconds. Once your gums are numb from your Lidocaine injection you should not feel any pain while your dentist is drilling, if you do feel any pain let him/her know immediately and they will give you more anesthesia. Good luck!
