Chipped porcelain bridge?!

Question: I have a porcelain bridge made a month ago and it chipped. The work is done in another country and I'm in the states now. So I need a new dentist. Can a porcelain bridge ussually be fixed if slightly chipped?
I am now afraid to bite anything. :-(
Plus it chipped while I was sleeping(probably I bit to hard in sleep) so I'm scared to fall asleep.
Thank you!

HELLO LOST ROSE,
THE THING TO BE AWARE OF IS THAT A PORCELAIN REPAIR IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH PORCELAIN ONCE AGAIN ONCE THE BRIDGE IS CEMENTED.
A REPAIR CAN SOMETIMES BE MADE USING COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND SPECIAL TECHNIQUES.
WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT IS PREVENTING THIS FROM HAPPENING IN THE FUTURE.
HAVE YOUR DENTIST CHECK WHETHER YOU GRIND WHEN ASLEEP AS THIS WILL CHIP PORCELAIN BRIDGES FASTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE.
IF YOU DO GRIND, A NIGHT MOUTH GUARD IS A WISE CHOICE.

Sorry for your problem...sometimes these teeth related issues can scare us to death!! Whatever the outcome..you need to call your dentist and get a referral to a Denture person...or maybe the dentist himself can fix the problem. Since this bridge was probably made in a lab and then put in by your person in the other country...I don't know.l If you don't have a dentist..ask someone you trust who their dentist is..Call and get this thing going. Whatever the outcome..IT IS FIXABLE...so not to worry...just call... good luck..don't be afraid.. ? p.s. if money is a problem and you have no insurance..that can be worked out..CALL.. ?

Hello, the fact that you say the porcelain tooth surface chipped while you were sleeping doesn't necessarily mean that the surface was in good condition when you went to sleep. More than likely it was fractured before you went to sleep. While it's possible that you bruxated (ground your teeth) while sleeping and that action casude the procelain to chip, I doubt that alone was the cause. There are usually one of two reason a porcelain tooth surface fracrures or chips. First, the crown didn't properly fit the tooth stump and the stress caused the chip or fracture or second, if the chip is on the chewing surface most likely the tooths chewing surface was slightly out of balance which caused that area to contact "first" when the teeth came together. That out of balance issue can cause a fracture....As for repairing it, a patch material can be applied but the color and loingevity will be very limited. For a proper repair the bridge needs to be removed and sent to a dental laboratory ceramist to affect the proper repair.
