Getting Braces?!
Question: Im Getting Braces Tomorrow and I Just Want To Know About Something. Swallowing....Basicalyy i swallow alot (obvo!!) and wen they put braces in they keep your mouth open wide....i am gonna panic so much.... what do they do about swallowin ?

Oh boy! The same they do when you go for a cleaning! They put a sucking tube in your mouth! Not to worry! Of course, if the tube doesn't reach a certain side of your mouth and saliva gets stuck there you just move it yourself. It's ok! Best wishes and have a great treatment! It really pays off!
Can't you use your tongue to swallow? They don't have your mouth open constantly the whole time. I know how it feels. They also have been doing it for so long it really doesn't take as long as you think it would to apply. They put on a bracket, put on the gum, put UV light on it and then go to the next one (and I do believe you can swallow in between that).
You can swallow with your mouth open. And it's not going to be open the whole time, they'll give you a chance to swallow normally. When you get there let them know that you're worried about this so they're aware of it.
you can swallow as much as much as you want. and they have a little tube that sucks up spit (don't worry it desn't go down our throat or anything, it's just the like spit sucker upers at the dentist.), so it's all good. and before you know it, it'll be done.
When I had them put in I was still able to swallow so you should be ok. you can still manage it just try to relax
my dentist tells me to raise my hand when i need to swallow or suction. just tell him/her before they start about your worry.
They will have a suction tube running, or that's what they did for me. It was ok as far as I remember.
well they put a water thingi in your mouth and a vacum tingiy so ther'es no reson to have to swallow.
