I NEED SOME ADVICE!!!!...i just got like ugly things in my mouth.. please help.?!
Question: i have had braces for about 5 months now.. no big deal, but today i just got this appliance that "pushes my jaw foward" to get rid of my over bite. the dentist said it would b unconfortable and stuff which i was ok with cause its only supposed to hurt for about a week. so i thought the applice was gonna b small n not tht notice able... but when i looked in the mirror i wanted to cry, there are two bars sticking of my teeth tht are more then a centimeter long each. the doctor told me(b4 i got the aplliance) that it wouldnt b too noticeable n u wouldnt see it if i smiled. so i noticed that u can see it when i smile and since i have a small framed face, my bottom jaw looks almost swollen. i am very scared the kids in school will make fun of me cause it is VERY noticable. .. i can get it removed and wear something only at night but with this i will get better results in less time. idk if i should deal with it or just get something else... please help..plz read the whole thin b4 u answer!

Have you talked to your doctor about the bars? If there's nothing wrong with it and you only have to deal with the swelling for a week, then stick to it so you can hurry up and get through with it. about the kids making fun of you....how do their teeth look? If they talk about you, just ignore. You'll stay with your true friends while all the kids with nothing better to do in their pathetic lives gossip about something that will make your mouth beautiful. Plus, things are never really as bad as they seem. Try not to be self concious because, chances are, if you don't care about it, they won't care either because they won't be getting an entertaining reaction from you.
First off anyone who would make fun of you is doing so due to thier own insecurities. Second off if the dentist said it was best I would follow his directions. There is alot more to life than little things like that I know it is hard to understand now but you will see what I mean when you get older.
Don't worry about it
Don't pay any attention to those other people. Just think how nice you will look when it's all over. There's always someone ready to make fun of someone else. Just ignore them. I know that it's hard to do but I have confidence in you!
i think you should keep it on. and you shouldnt pay attention to the other kids. they just want to get noticed by making fun of people. and i bet you there teeth are going to be ugly compared to yours when you get your teeth fixed :]
