Referral to nhs for dental braces?!

Question: hi there, i have recently had a baby and therefor dont pay for dental treatment although I know braces and veneers dont come under this rule. They need to be sent for referral to see if the nhs will cover payment. I have really bad teeth and my dentist made them worse, hence the reason they werent corrected when i was younger. could anyone tell my the rules around referral and whether i would be entitled.. many thanks

over 18's wont be given orthoodontics (braces) on the nhs. in some areas of the uk only under 16's will be seen. you can be referred to a hospital which does braces, but the guidelines are strict, see your dentist they will assess you and tell you if you are entitled. private ortho in the uk costs from around
