I just got my braces tightend!The pain wont go away!HELP?

I have had baces for 3 months and I just got them tightend today. They dont hurt right away but a couple of hours later my teeth get sore and I cant even eat! It hurts really bad and I took ibuprofen and it doesnt help!I t usually hurts for about 4-5 days. How can I make the pain go away??Its driving me crazy

There is a gel you can put on your gums, Ambesol, that really helps with the pain because it numbs your mouth...I used that when I got my braces tightened..you can get it at a local drug store like CVS or walgreens target.... otherwise up your ibuprofen dosage..its ok to take more than 2...you just can't have some for a while but it helps with the pain!
