Do injections hurt?!
Question: i have to have to fillings and there going to inject into my mouth to numb my gums. Do they hurt and how much out of a scale of 10??? thank you

I'd say 2, maximum- 3 outta 10. it literally doesn't hurt at all
update: why you people keep saying it hurts when it really doesn't? ??
.............I'm still reading and..... like WHAT?? cause I'm really prone to pain I admit that but this thing doesn't hurt at all! or maybe- it depends on the dentist? experienced dentists can inject with no pain probably?? cause mine doesn't hurt AT ALL!
in a scale of 10 i would say 9 and a half because my friend done it already
the injction doesnt hurt, but the filling hurts
it hurts just for a few seconds then its like completely numb for like 3-4 hrs and i didnt think it hurt too much. just be careful not to bite your lip without noticing lol.

It stings for a second
Yeah they hurt, I'm not going to lie, but it's only for like 5 seconds. I think that was the most painful process, the rest was a breeze. Afterwards, I sat back, read my magazine and watched some televison. On a scale of 10, I've give it an 8.
Just for future reference, the novacaine (what they use to freeze your gums) usually makes me feel sick to my stomach, I nearly puked on the dental assistant. If that happens to you, just ask for it without epinephrine. It makes the process much easier.
it depends where the injection will be injected...
examples:
in the upper jaw :
anterior injection scales 10.
posterior injection scales 6
in the lower jaw..
the ID injection which is for posterior teeth, ranges between 6-10 in the pain scale, depends on the injection how far it from the nerve, it is mostly ur luck...
the mental injection for anterior teeth scales 7.
*** just for extaction in the upper jaw we need a palatal injection which scales 12 " very pain full"
It feels like a small pinch on the arm if someone good does it. Occasionally, you can have a small shock, like you touched a very weak electric socket.
nothing hurts at first.. but when they are done and u go home your gums will feel like you have beans in them... i hope this helped:)
Are you talking about a novacaine? If so, and if your gums are infected and sore, the truth is you will go through the roof. At least this is what happened when I went to get my root canal. My gums were so sore that even a slight breeze on my gums hurt. But then the medication kicks in and you won't feel a damn thing.
