The pain should not last that long after a regular tooth extraction. The wound might have gotten infected. You should go see your dentist again. A quick cleaning procedure and cure will help you a lot and will make the pain go away.

I don't think it should take this long to stop hurting. When I get a tooth pulled it usually stops hurting and healing up within a few days. You may have it infected, so you may need to go back and see the dentist.

it can take anythng from a day to a month..relates to..
1) infection pre and post op
2) trauma during removal
3) length of procedure
4) maintenance post-operatively inclusive of follow-up and instructions followed
5) ur pain threshold and anxiety

want an advice..??
do warm saline rinses every 2- 4 hrs and see it gettin bettr

that means 6 days after extraction and still feels fain..
this is not normal, and i think there is a problem, it may be:

dry socket... the treatment is antibiotics and a special medical dressing in the socket until healing.

or while extraction part of the root were fractured and now still in the socket... the treatment is to remove that fractured piece.

or the extraction was traumatic and that can cause inflammation... the treatment is by antibiotics and pain killers for a week.

or an infection happened ... the treatment is the same for the traumatic.

or other causes can be knowen with examination...

so in all cases u have to visit ur dentist to have the best treatment....

i wish u the best

Normally after about 24 hours the pain should begin to decrease. If it is not, you may have a dry socket/ failure to heal/form clot. You should see your dentist so they can check it. However, some people take longer to heal than others. A single tooth extraction can take several months to fully heal, but normally takes about 2-4 weeks for the hole to close.
