Having my wisdom teeth removed?!

Question:

Having my wisdom teeth removed?

I'm having my upper jaw wisdom teeth removed. My dentist says to have them taken out one at a time. I thought I would have to be knocked out and have an oral surgeon to remove them but this doesn't seem to be the case. What if the teeth are so deep into my jaw that the dentist and his local anestheia is not enough?
What happens during procedure? And what can I expect after?
I'm probably going to be fine but I have stupidly read horror stories about wisdom teeth that I am now in a panic. I can't wait for them to be removed coz they are growing not straight and have pushed my other teeth forward. Will I have to have a brace to push them back or will they re-aligned themselves?

Answers:

I had three removed at one, and I wasn't knocked out. They gave me a local and some "happy gas". The removal itself wasn't too bad. The three days following was pretty uncomfortable. Don't worry, after a week or two you'll get back to normal. Your teeth should move back, but speak to you dentist about that.
Good Luck!
