Dental exam with new dentist?!

Question:

Dental exam with new dentist?

I have been going to my dentist for about twenty five years. I like him and I trust him. A week ago I had my cleaning and x-rays. Then the other dentist walks in and examines my x-rays and tells me I need a crown. I may need the crown but I was not asked or informed that another dentist would be examining me. If I wanted to see another dentist I could have found one closer to home.
I want to schedule my crown with my original dentist. Am I making a big deal of this?

Answers:

Talk to your original dentist and ask him what's up with the "new" guy? Tell him if you need this procedure done, that you want him to do it, and not the new guy.

Having trust in the dentist you are using is very important. Not just anybody can take their place.
