How old to have a tooth crown?!

Question:

How old to have a tooth crown?

i chipped my tooth a few years back and my dentist has been doing something to build the tooth up each time it breaks. im not too sure what she does but its not particularly strong nor does it blend in with the rest of my teeth very well. i was wondering as one appointment she stated that when i get older i can have a tooth crown which will be very strong and blend in better. i dont really want to wait much longer to have this done as it really makes my teeth look bad and makes me feel as if all the years of having braces were a waste. i am 16 next tuesday and was wondering how much longer i should expect to have to wait for this tooth crown?

Answers:

HELLO WOODYBOY,
CONSIDER A VENEER RATHER THAN A CROWN. THE CROWN REMOVES TOO MUCH TOOTH STRUCTURE.
WITH THE CROWN A ROOT CANAL IS A POSSIBILITY.
