If your overbite is slight then they'll leave it. I had to wear rubber bands to improve my overbite and now the top teeth are just over the bottom ones.... They'll try to improve it as much as possible but it won't be perfect.

i think your supose to have an overbite

Only your orthodontist knows. I wore the rubber bands on both sides. Once you get used to the braces poking holes in your jaw (I must have cornered the market on dental wax) and adjustments, anything else is a piece of cake!
Don't worrry about it. When the work is over you will enjoy your smile for years and years and years. I know it was worth it to me.

Edit: Angel is correct. I wore rubber bands to pull my teeth forward on top. I had an open bite (teeth stood on top of each other when smiling naturally.) Now my bottom teeth go behind the top ones when I smile naturally.

Well, you should have an overbite.

If it's slight (normal) then it won't be treated, you will only be treated for it if necessary, obviously your orthodontist doesn't feel treatment is needed.

when i got mine off, after 6 years....yes they were straight, but i still had an overbite-which was one of the reasons i had gotten them in the first place. it was better than it was but i think everyone has a slight overbite. it wouldnt be acceptable or possible if your teeth sat right on top of one another if you think about it.

if your that worried about it-ask. and make sure you wear your retainers-i didnt and now my bottom teeth are crooked.
