No this is because your bar was too short to begin with or you have had excessive swelling either way the bar is too short to accomidate. You need to go back to your piercer ASAP and have it changed while it is still easy to do so. once the tissue compleatly covers the back it will have to be cut out. to help with the swelling until you can see your piercer apply ice cubes made from chamomile tea (or regular until you can get chamomile, chamomile just helps with swelling because it is a natural anti-inflamitory) and take IB Profen as directed on the bottle.

As for the people on here saying its normal please don't give advice on something that you are not POSATIVE about when it is medically relevant. You wouldn't appreciate it if you listened and had to have jewlery cut out of your lip would you?

It's probably just swollen, though you should have a post long enough to accommodate swelling. That could be the reason why. Maybe you need a longer bar.

Yeah it's normal. I had my labret pierced a long time ago. It goes away once the swelling goes down.

Well there could be a number of reasons. Most likely the area is inflammed and is having a foriegn body reaction.

Studs through the lip can chip teeth, wear your gum away, cause ulcers and be a source of infection. So be aware of these pit falls.

This is all normal. just keep cleaning it to keep it from getting infected and it'll be alright. Hope this helps! ^_^
