Answers:

Any general practice dentist or prosthodontist can do dental work considered "cosmetic" in their scope of practice. There is no such officially recognized specialty as "cosmetic dentistry."

Prosthodontists are dentists who specialize in the use of dental prosthetics (removeable dentures or fixed bridges or crowns, or a combination of both) to repair damaged teeth or to replace missing teeth. Generally prosthodontists do not do any oral surgery (extractions and such). To specialize in prosthodontics requires a few more years of additional schooling at a post-grad program after finishing dental school.

A good place to start if you are looking for information towards a career in dentistry would be the ADA website. They have a section for students interested in the field: http://www.ada.org

Hope this helps, and good luck.
